About
This website is to record the contributions and tribulations of the Chinese in America from 1850s to now. Their hardworking experience and their struggle for equal rights have been integral part of the American legacy. It is a unique path of success, tears, struggle and pride. This is the first website that includes all aspects of Chinese immigrants's experience in the U.S., including government papers, personal correpondences, family and wedding photos, and documentaries. The Chinese immigrants in this website arrange from the earliest Chinese immigrants, that was, the Chinese who came to the U.S around 1850s to benefit from the gold rush and to build the transcontinental railroad, to the latest Chinese immigrants in the U.S. The final goal of the website is to demonstrate the history, culture, politics, art, tradition and legacy of the Chinese in the American society and bridge this group of people to the American public.
